Job summary

Aztec Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an assistant accountant to support day-to-day bookkeeping for fund structures under the guidance of a Financial Reporting Manager.

You will help prepare investor reports, statutory financial statements, and respond to audit queries. The role includes bank reconciliations, maintaining eFront/Excel schedules, and tax return support. A professional qualification path is supported by Aztec Group.

• Desire to study towards a relevant professional qualification (supported by Aztec Group)
• Sound technical financial services knowledge
• Computer literacy and interpersonal skills are essential

Responsibilities

• Assist with bookkeeping of funds, management companies and fund structures
• Assist with accounting matters including preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports and statutory financial statements
• Assist with completion of routine audit queries
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation
• Maintain records on eFront and Excel schedules for bookkeeping
• Assist in preparation and reconciliation of periodic tax returns

About the role:

The purpose of this position is to assist with the routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with all aspects of the bookkeeping of funds, management companies and associated fund structures
• Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements and ad hoc investor requests
• Assist with the completion of routine audit queries
• Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide or source supporting documentation evidencing transactions
• Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping
• Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

• The candidate should have a desire to study towards a relevant professional qualification (supported by the Aztec Group)
• Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)
• Computer literacy and interpersonal skills are essential
