Job summary

Aztec Group in St Helier is seeking a Fund Accountant to perform routine day-to-day accounting for fund structures under supervision. You will bookkeep funds and management companies, assist with investor reports, statutory statements, and tax returns, while contributing to training and development through the Aztec Academy.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Accounting/Finance, have 2–3 years’ international accounting experience, and are pursuing ACCA/ACA qualifications.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ accounting experience in an international environment.
• Studying towards ACCA Fundamental Skills or ACA Professional level.
• Good technical financial services knowledge and strong Excel skills.

If you are passionate, curious, innovative and data driven, you could still be a good fit. **About the role:** The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager. **Key responsibilities:** * Bookkeep funds, management companies and associated fund structures within the team* Assist with all aspects of accounting matters, including the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and ad-hoc investor queries* Assist with the completion of routine audit queries* Prepare periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions* Maintain accurate records on eFront and Microsoft Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of bookkeeping* Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns* Assist and support the induction, integration and training of Trainee staff **Skills, knowledge, expertise:** * Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance* 2 - 3 years’ experience in Accounting in an international environment in a Corporate Services / Fund Services / Real Estate organization, Audit Firm or similar experience* The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level or ACA Professional level)* Some technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Aztec Academy)* Computer literacy skills are essentialWe will provide the training, both in house for relevant technical knowledge and also professional qualifications to enhance your professional development.
