An alternative fund manager specialising in private credit is seeking a fully qualified accountant to join their Finance team. This broad role covers all areas of fund accounting. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant experience, either gained through fund audit, from within another fund manager, or from a third-party administrator.

The Role

• Read and understand the constitutional documents and private placement memorandums to determine proper accounting for transactions within the fund structures.
• Ensure all deliverables are met to properly operate the funds and meet deadlines.
• Review documents related to investment purchases to determine proper accounting treatment.
• Review fund administrator reports before finalisation.
• Assess the performance of the fund and its underlying investments.
• Calculate net asset values (NAVs), monitor and post cash flows, and coordinate with custodian banks and service providers.
• Track internal rate of return by investment and investor.
• Liaise with auditors of the fund families.
• Verify trade terms with counterparties, including direct lending, derivatives such as FX forwards, credit-linked notes, and credit default swaps.
• Assist in preparing investor reports and presentations as needed.
• Undertake ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience in fund accounting, preferably within private credit/debt funds or other closed-ended funds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges.
• No sponsorship offered; candidates should already be based in the UK.
