Job summary

Donard Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Functional Specialist in a hybrid role, delivering end-to-end assessments for the Government's disability allowance (PIP). The role combines face-to-face, virtual and telephone assessments with comprehensive reports, supporting a diverse group of clinicians including Nurses, OTs and Paramedics.

The position offers a starting salary of £39,500 with a potential increase to £40,500 on DWP approval, plus bonus eligibility and a hybrid, full-time working

Qualifications

• Qualified professional registered with NMC or HCPC.
• At least 1 year post-qualification experience.
• Excellent communication and IT literacy.
• Ability to deliver face-to-face and virtual assessments.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end caseloads including assessments and reports.
• Conduct face-to-face, virtual and telephone assessments.
• Produce initial reviews and paper-based reports (PBR).
• Work autonomously with time built in for CPD and audits.

We are recruiting for hybrid working Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics to make the most of their existing clinical knowledge and take on a new role with a leading, multi-national employer with Full time roles available.

As a Functional Specialist you will be providing unbiased, comprehensive assessments for the Government's disability allowance (PIP) whilst ensuring a personalised, inclusive and empathetic service for the service user.

Your New Role:

• As a multi-skilled Functional Specialist, you will manage caseloads from end to end which includes delivering face to face and virtual assessments, telephone assessments, initial review calls and paper based reports (PBR).
• As a multi-skilled Functional Specialist, you will have greater job variety and autonomy to manage cases to conclusion.
• You will assess the full range of health conditions and disabilities affecting the claimant, including physical, sensory, mental, intellectual and cognitive impairments.
• You will have time built into your working rota for breaks, CPD, audit amendments, requesting and reviewing further evidence and team meetings.

Requirements

• Qualified Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Paramedic.
• 1+ years post qualification experience.
• Valid registration on NMC or HCPC without restrictions.
• Excellent communication skills and strong IT literacy
