Functional Skills Tutor - Maths & English

Location: Central Manchester

Hours: Every Monday, 9:15am - 1:15pm (4 hours)

Contract: Ongoing for the full academic year

Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their potential? We are looking for a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to deliver engaging Maths and English sessions to learners with a range of additional needs.

About the Role

You’ll deliver Functional Skills Maths and English to a small group of approximately 12 learners in a supportive learning environment.

• Planning and delivering engaging Functional Skills Maths and English lessons.
• Teaching a 4-hour block each Monday (2 hours Maths, 2 hours English).
• Assessing learner progress through marking and feedback.
• Creating an inclusive and positive learning environment that supports individual learner needs.
• Adapting teaching strategies to engage students with SEND and SEMH.

About You

• Is a qualified teacher (QTS) or an experienced unqualified teacher/tutor.
• Has proven tutoring or teaching experience (essential).
• Has experience planning lessons and marking learners' work.
• Ideally has experience supporting learners with SEND and/or SEMH.
• Is patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping learners succeed.
