Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English to a small group of learners in Central Manchester. The role runs every Monday, 4 hours total, during the academic year, with a focus on engaging learners and building confidence in Maths and English.

The ideal candidate may be a qualified teacher (QTS) or an experienced tutor, with strong lesson-planning and marking skills, and a passion for supporting learners with SEND/SEMH.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher (QTS) or experienced tutor.
• Proven tutoring or teaching experience is essential.
• Experience planning lessons and marking learner work.
• Ideally experience with SEND/SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills Maths and English lessons.
• Teach a 4-hour block each Monday (2 hours Maths, 2 hours English).
• Assess learner progress through marking and feedback.
• Create an inclusive environment supporting individual needs.
• Adapt teaching to engage students with SEND/SEMH.
