Job summary

Mantra Learning Ltd is seeking a Freelance Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English to learners from entry level 3 to level 2. The role involves creating personalised learning plans and reviewing progress, with remote or workplace delivery and a focus on employability.

The position is part-time and contract-based, offering £25 per hour, with safeguarding and British Values priorities and a commitment to high-quality Ofsted-compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• English and maths qualifications at level 2 or above.
• Level 3 teaching qualification or above.
• Desirable – minimum of one year delivering adult education.
• Desirable – advice and guidance level 3 or above

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess functional skills Maths and English level 2.
• Provide learner support through face-to-face, telephone, internet and email.
• Provide information, advice and guidance on course suitability and learning goals.
• Induct learners into learning environments, courses and systems.
• Collaborate with the team to develop departmental programmes.
• Promote Functional Skills learning to employers and learners as valuable.
• Promote safeguarding, Prevent and British Values in sessions.
• Manage a caseload of learners to achieve timely outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records in our systems.
• Mark work and provide constructive feedback.
• Support tutors with marking and work scrutiny.
• Monitor progress and support learners with SEN.
• Assist Job Gym team with information, advice and guidance.
• Deliver a high-quality experience aligned with Ofsted expectations to achieve outstanding.
