Job summary

Peterborough College is recruiting a Functional Skills English Lecturer to deliver Level 2 and below, helping learners improve literacy for study and work. You will plan, deliver engaging lessons, assess work and provide timely feedback, contributing to curriculum development and learner progression.

This full-time role is 37 hours per week, all year round, on a 12-month FTC. The salary ranges from £29,725 to £37,527, with opportunities for professional development and training.

Qualifications

• Relevant English qualification is required.
• Ideally a recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one with college support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Functional Skills English teaching to Level 2 and below.
• Assess learner work and provide timely feedback to support progression.
• Plan, develop and review schemes of work and resources.
• Contribute to learner support, tutorials, recruitment activities and quality assurance.
