Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking a Disability Assessor for WCA in Hastings. The role involves conducting assessments (telephone, video, or in person) and producing evidence-based reports for the DWP. You will not decide benefits entitlement but support the process.You must be a registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC) with at least one year post-registration experience. Hybrid office/home working, Mon-Fri, 9-5, 33 days holiday, and regular salary reviews.

Disability Assessor - WCA - Nurse, Physio, OT

Salary: £42,985

Hours: Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm)

Location: Hastings

Role Summary

The Disability Assessor conducts Work Capability Assessments (WCA) with individuals with long-term health conditions or disabilities. The role requires producing comprehensive, evidence-based reports for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The assessor is not responsible for benefit entitlement decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments with claimants,
• Perform thorough evaluations to determine how a claimant's disability or health condition affects their work capabilities.
• Assess individuals with a range of physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory impairments.
• Produce impartial, accurate, and high-quality written reports using a designated IT system.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and assessment criteria.
• Adhere to all professional standards, including Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection, and Risk Management.

Essential Criteria

• Registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC registration required).
• Minimum of one years' relevant post-registration clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal clinical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload efficiently.Experience working with complex health conditions
