Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking a Functional Assessor for a permanent role in Luton. The position offers Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with no night shifts and a strong salary package (£48,000 starting, up to £4,000 in year one).

Hybrid working and a 12-week paid training program are included to develop clinical assessment skills and report-writing capabilities. Applicants must be HCPC/NMC registered, with at least 1 year post-registration experience in an adult setting, and full right to work in the

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year post registration experience in an adult setting.
• NMC/HCPC registered.
• Full right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
• Strong clinical knowledge of long-term conditions and functional assessment.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Confident with IT and typing.

Responsibilities

• Review all media and supporting evidence of the claimant.
• Conduct structured assessments based on this evidence face-to-face, telephone or video.
• Explore the claimant's typical day and real-world impact.
• Assess reliability: safe, repeated, timely, and to standard.
• Record findings clearly and neutrally.
• Produce high-quality, justified reports for the DWP.
• Follow DWP safeguarding and professional standards.

Functional Assessor – WCA - Homeworking & Excellent Salary Package - Luton

Location: Luton

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday–Friday | 9am–5pm | No Shifts

Salary: £48,000 starting salary

(Up to £4,000 salary increase in the first year based on performance)

What You’ll Do

• Review all media and supporting evidence of the claimant
• Conduct structured assessments based on this evidence either face-to-face, telephone or video
• Explore their typical day and real-world impact
• Assess reliability:
  • Can they do it safely, repeatedly, in a reasonable time frame and to an acceptable standard
• Explore variability (good/bad days, flare-ups, fatigue patterns)
• Record findings clearly and neutrally
• Produce high-quality, justified reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
• Follow DWP safeguarding and professional standards

Training

• 12-week paid training (full- time) covering:
  • Assessment techniques DWP guidelines
  • Report Writing
  • Fully supported before working independently
