Job summary

PFAS is seeking a Functional Assessor in Norwich for a hybrid, full-time role. You will conduct structured assessments by telephone, video or in person, applying clinical judgment to support fair, evidence‑based decisions.

The role emphasizes training, clinical oversight, and a clear development pathway, with a rewarding salary and generous benefits package. Competitive hours are Monday–Friday with on-site requirements.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification as a registered healthcare professional (RGN, RMN, RNLD, Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Pharmacist).
  • Current NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration where applicable.
  • Minimum 12 months post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Eligibility to practise in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments.
  • Explore how a claimant’s condition impacts daily living.
  • Review and interpret clinical evidence.
  • Produce detailed, high‑quality written reports.
  • Apply professional judgement in line with regulatory standards.
  • Work towards quality and productivity targets.
  • Deliver assessments in a respectful, fair and reassuring manner.

£40,000 per year

Permanent | Full-Time | Hybrid (Norwich)

Monday–Friday

Applicants must live within a 90-minute commute of Norwich with minimum 3 days on site.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is an analytical, report‑focused role. It suits clinicians who enjoy critical thinking and structured environments.

This Role Would Suit You If You:
  • Have strong clinical reasoning skills
  • Are confident writing detailed, evidence‑based reports
  • Can interpret complex medical information
  • Are comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • Want predictable working hours
  • Are open to structured training and accreditation

Essential Requirements

We cannot consider applications without:

  • A recognised qualification as a registered healthcare professional (RGN, RMN, RNLD, Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Pharmacist)

  • Membership with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
  • Minimum 12 months’ post‑qualification clinical experience
