Job summary

Serco is seeking a Functional Assessor to support the Health Assessment Advisory Service for the Department for Work and Pensions. You’ll perform meaningful assessments to understand how health conditions affect daily life, contributing to fair decisions and better outcomes.

You’ll work in a hybrid model, with potential to speak with clients by phone, in person or online, and you’ll need post‑registration experience, good IT skills, and the ability to write concise reports.

Qualifications

• One year of post-registration experience as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist.
• Full registration with a UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or equivalent) with an active PIN and no restrictions.
• Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to write concise, accurate reports.
• Good IT skills and the ability to work under time pressures.

Location: Guilford - Hybrid working Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per year, with salary uplifts within the first 12 months Schedule: Full time and Part time opportunities. Monday – Friday, no nights or weekends.

This role gives Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN & RNLD), Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Occupational Therapists and Pharmacists the chance to use your clinical expertise in a new way. What You’ll Do As a Functional Assessor

All our Functional Assessors must successfully complete the full pre‑employment security screening process, including an Enhanced DBS check, before starting in role.
