Job summary

Gaia Recruitment is recruiting for a Functional Assessor role starting in 2027. The position involves on-site and remote assessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claims, with a 3 days on-site / 2 days from home pattern.

You will review medical evidence, conduct structured consultations, and produce detailed reports to inform DWP decision-making. The role offers structured training, CPD, and clear progression into senior clinical roles.

Qualifications

• Carrying out face-to-face and telephone/video functional assessments for people claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• Reviewing medical evidence and claimant histories to build a clear, accurate clinical picture
• Conducting structured consultations that explore how a person's health condition affects their day-to-day life
• Producing detailed, well-reasoned written reports that inform DWP decision-making
• Applying clinical judgement and critical reasoning within a structured assessment framework
• Working to quality and productivity standards within a supportive, audited environment
• Collaborating with a wider clinical team, including access to peer support, clinical leads, and ongoing case discussion

Who we're looking for:
