Job summary

Devonport Royal Dockyard invites you to join a 5-year Electro-Mechanical Engineer Degree Apprenticeship. You will work on electrical and mechanical systems across our Submarine Commissioning Group and Mechanical Handling Group, contributing to nuclear submarine projects and lifting equipment across the site.

Upon completion, you’ll earn a BEng in Electro-Mechanical Engineering with extensive placements and professional registration preparation, including Warwick university sessions and onsite

Qualifications

• Minimum five GCSEs grade C/4 or above including Mathematics and English.
• A-level Mathematics and a Physical Science with top grades; or a suitable BTEC/IB/Access route.
• University pathway: BEng after completion; includes placements and Warwick sessions.
• Security clearance requirements: BPSS and SC clearance; UK-national eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems for nuclear submarine projects.
• Participate in installation, operation, and maintenance tasks onsite at Devonport Dockyard.
• Engage in drawing, calculations, specifications, scheduling and reporting.
• Gain experience through placements across Submarine Commissioning Group and Mechanical Handling Group.
