Job summary

Jobtailor is hiring a software engineer to build modern web applications using React and TypeScript, while also designing scalable Go-based microservices and deploying in AWS. You will work across REST and gRPC APIs, and contribute to observability, reliability, and performance improvements.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, participating in architecture reviews, code reviews, and best-practice documentation to deliver

Qualifications

2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong React and TypeScript development experience.
At least 1 year of experience building backend services with Go (Golang).
Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Experience with NoSQL databases.
Proficiency with Git and modern development practices.
Experience working within Agile teams.
Nice to have: gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
Nice to have: MongoDB experience.
Nice to have: AWS experience.
Nice to have: Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Nice to have: Event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.
Nice to have: Observability, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
Nice to have: Experience working in a SaaS product organisation.

Responsibilities

Build modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers to deliver user experiences.
Ensure applications are performant, accessible, responsive, and well tested.
Design and maintain scalable Go-based microservices.
Build and support REST and gRPC APIs.
Develop integrations and event-driven solutions across distributed systems.
Improve observability, reliability, scalability, and security.
Deploy and support applications in AWS.
Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in production support and on-call rotations as required.
Take part in architecture discussions, code reviews, and design reviews.
Contribute to documentation, standards, and engineering best practices.
Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Identify opportunities to improve system performance and developer productivity.
Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle from design and implementation to deployment and operational support.
