Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an Ad-Hoc SEN Teaching Assistant in Preston and surrounding areas to support children with additional needs in specialist settings. The role offers flexible hours and the chance to gain valuable SEN experience while making a meaningful impact.

You will provide classroom support across age groups, work one-to-one and in small groups, and assist teachers in creating a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN children or vulnerable young people desirable.
• Flexible, dependable and adaptable.
• Calm, patient and supportive.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or support work welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Providing classroom support across different age groups and needs.
• Working one-to-one and in small groups with pupils with SEND.
• Supporting pupils with learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
• Assisting teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Adapting to different classroom settings and daily requirements.
