Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary & Secondary SEN School in Billericay on a full-time, long-term basis with an ASAP start.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support across both primary and secondary classes, assist with communication and EHCP targets, and support personal care where needed while collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to maintain a calm, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care where needed.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
