Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support students in a specialist secondary school in Rochdale. The role is full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday during school hours, with a focus on SEN provision and GCSE/entry-level curriculum access.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups to help implement IEPs and EHCP targets, support SEMH needs, and collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies.

Qualifications

• SEN experience, ideally within a setting integrating students with mainstream peers
• Confidence supporting GCSE or entry-level curriculum delivery
• Calm, empathetic and proactive approach to SEMH needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• TA Level 2 qualification desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to secondary-age students
• Support access to GCSE and entry-level curriculum content alongside mainstream peers
• Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
• Support students' social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
• Work closely with teaching staff, families, and external agencies
