Justteachers Ltd are partnering with a friendly primary school in Thetford to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting September. The role involves supporting teachers and pupils across the primary age range, helping to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where every child can reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a primary school, educational, childcare, or youth setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring and supportive approach to working with children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Two recent education-based references.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and support progress.
• Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning activities.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and model appropriate attitudes and interactions.
• Provide additional support for pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
• Promote pupil confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
• Assist with classroom management and daily routines.
• Support the implementation of intervention programmes where required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
• Contribute to educational visits, enrichment activities, and school events.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
• Uphold the school’s values and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
