East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operates First Steps Nursery, an NHS workplace nursery at Conquest Hospital. We seek a full-time Nursery Assistant for maternity cover, requiring NVQ Level 2 in Childcare & Education (or equivalent) and EYFS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Needs NVQ Level 2 in Childcare & Education (or equivalent).
• Experience with children under 5 years preferred.
• Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver educational activities for children aged 4 months to 8 years in full day care.
• Maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios and follow Ofsted and NST procedures.
• Assist in setting up rooms and resources to support play and learning.
• Communicate with parents/carers about their child’s day and progress.
