Job Title: Full-Time MFL Teacher- Secondery

Full-Time MFL Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton, Hampshire

Are you passionate about languages and ready to inspire the next generation of linguists?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic MFL Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire. The role is to begin as soon as possible on a full-time basis, with the successful candidate ideally completing a paid trial week, followed by a potential long-term placement through to September 2025 and beyond.

The client school is open to both Early Career Teachers and more experienced educators. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and pupil development, the school is searching for a motivated individual who can confidently deliver high-quality language lessons and positively contribute to school life.

MFL Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish or German), following the national curriculum
• Support students across Key Stages, tailoring lessons to mixed-ability classes
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining high standards of achievement
• Create a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental planning and school activities
• Uphold school behaviour and safeguarding policies with professionalism and consistency
• Attend meetings, parent consultations, and training as required

Requirements for Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL):

• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in French, German, Spanish or a related education field
• Experience working as an MFL teacher across UK schools.
• Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to student development
• Confident in delivering lessons that foster curiosity and enthusiasm for languages
• Willingness to undertake a paid trial week as part of the interview process
• Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
