Job summary

Weston College Group invites applications for a Lecturer in Maths. This full-time role (37 hours per week) requires delivering high-quality teaching across GCSE and Functional Skills maths, Entry Level to Level 2, on campus in Weston-super-Mare.

You will plan learning journeys, track learner progress, and coordinate external assessments as a link tutor. A recognised Teaching Qualification or willingness to gain one within three years is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain this Qualification within the first three years of service.
• Ability to teach GCSE and/or Functional Skills maths Entry Level - to Level 2.
• Degree, or professional qualification, which is appropriate to the work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality teaching and learning on a range of courses at different levels and contexts, both discrete, face to face and on-line.
• Proactively track and record student progress against starting points ensuring that accurate and reliable information on the predicted achievement and success of learners is readily available.
• Complete and use initial assessments of learners to ensure that their learning needs are met and appropriate learning journeys are planned.
• Act as a link tutor ensuring that external assessments and exams are organised and communicated to vocational staff and their students
