Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Maintenance Assist at Prestwick. You will support the safe operation, maintenance and repair of building services, with roughly half your time spent on hands-on maintenance.

You will coordinate with subcontractors, ensure compliance with statutory PPMs, and help improve plant reliability at a busy corporate site. The role requires practical maintenance experience, strong problem-solving, and good health & safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in building services and plant engineering.
• Hands-on maintenance and engineering experience.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance in commercial/industrial settings.
• Technical knowledge across LV, boiler/pressure systems and Legionella advantageous.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe work practices.
• Experience with Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work.
• Ability to provide technical support and coordinate subcontractors.
• Strong fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support safe operation, maintenance and repair of building services and plant.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance; about 50% hands-on work.
• Provide technical guidance to the maintenance team.
• Coordinate directly employed labour and subcontractors for PPMs.
• Ensure 100% compliance across statutory PPM activities.
• Support reactive maintenance during and outside normal hours.
• Maintain maintenance, Health & Safety and contract records.
• Promote energy efficiency and monitor equipment performance.
• Work with SHEQ to review Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
• Build positive relationships with client, contractors and staff.
