Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in English or related subject.
• Strong knowledge of English Language and English Literature.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate students of all abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.
• ECTs encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable).
• Teach English Language and English Literature.
• Create an inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Differentiate lessons to meet varying abilities and learning styles.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and effective classroom management.
• Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking and listening skills; prepare for internal assessments and external examinations.
• Contribute to development of the English curriculum and departmental initiatives.
• Support extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, creative writing projects, debating societies, and school productions.
