Job summary

Remedy Education is recruiting a strong Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Lewisham, South East London. The role is full-time and on-site with a daily pay of £100-£117, starting ASAP.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ASD, PMLD and SLD, including personal care, communication support and behaviour management, working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored plans.

Qualifications

Experience supporting children with complex SEN is essential.
Experience with ASD, PMLD, SLD or similar.
Ability to provide personal care.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEN and communication needs.
Support pupils with severe learning difficulties and additional communication needs.
Assist with personal and intimate care, including toileting and changing where required.
Support non-verbal pupils using PECS, Makaton or other visual resources.
Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support and de-escalation.
Assist with sensory activities and individual education plans.
Encourage independence, communication and social development.
Work with teachers, therapists and staff to provide consistent support.
Maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
