Job summary

RNN Group at Rotherham Campus is hiring a part-time Cleaner to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for learners and staff. You will perform general cleaning, operate cleaning machines, and ensure facilities are ready for daily use.

The role requires 15 hours per week (05:30am–08:30am, Monday to Friday) with a pro-rata salary of £9,913.80 and annual equivalent of £24,454.04. Employment is through Rotherham Education Services.

Qualifications

• Reasonable cleaning experience in an office or similar environment.
• Willingness to work towards GCSE English/Maths (L2).
• Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general cleaning duties in allocated areas to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Use cleaning machines and chemicals as trained; report faults to the Estates team.
• Support outside areas with litter picking and seasonal deep cleans as required.

Cleaner

Location: Rotherham Campus

The successful candidate will undertake general cleaning duties in allocated areas of the college providing a clean, welcoming safe environment for our learners, employees and visitors.

Duties include general cleaning operations (inside and outside), multi-surface cleaning, use of cleaning machines as trained and directed, ensuring buildings are ready for use each day whilst incorporating safe usage of cleaning products and equipment, actively informing the wider Estates Team of any faults which could pose an issue for health and safety in order to ensure that these are reported and resolved. Seasonal/ad-hoc undertaking of deep clean processes/sanitising duties as directed, all cleaning products/materials utilised in accordance with training and instruction. Outside duties will include sweeping, litter picking. Generally keeping the outside area clean and tidy.

The hours will be:

15 hours (05:30am 08:30am, Monday Friday)

You will

need reasonable cleaning experience, ideally in an office environment and this will need to include using a range of cleaner equipment and substances. You must hold or be willing to work towards L2 English and Maths (GCSE A-C/4-9 or equivalent) and Emergency First Aid at Work.

You ll be highly flexible and able to respond to quick changes in demands upon you including responding to urgent jobs and supporting colleagues across the Estates/Facilities team.

Department Info

Working as part of the cleaning team, you will work with your colleagues under the direction of the wider Estates team to ensure that all necessary cleaning duties are undertaken and RNN Group buildings are maintained to a high standard at all times. You will report to the Cleaning Supervisor.
