Job summary

EMED Group based in Thurmaston, Leicestershire, is recruiting a full-time Ambulance Care Assistant. You will transport elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to appointments and between facilities, sometimes in two-person crews. A full UK driving licence and good physical fitness are essential.

The role is 37.5 hours per week on a rota that includes weekends with hours from 5am to midnight. EMED offers a range of employee benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient care and communicating with patients and families.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Physically fit to assist patient handling and moving.
• Be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Transport elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between facilities.
• Assist with lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the ambulance.
• Hand over patients to hospital staff or relatives as required.
• Ensure the ambulance is kept safe, clean and well maintained.
