Miller Maxwell Ltd is recruiting a Full Stack Software Engineer to help rebuild a core trading platform used by front-office traders across global offices. You will own both ends of the stack, building React interfaces that surface live market data and designing Node.js services behind them, processing high-volume, real-time data.

Miller Maxwell is working with a well-established electronic brokerage that is rebuilding its core trading platform from the ground up. This is not a greenfield startup product — it is a system that moves billions of pounds of daily flow, used in real time by front-office traders across three global offices. The engineering standards reflect that.

The Full Stack Software Engineer role:

You will own both ends of the stack. On the front end, you will be building React interfaces that surface live market data cleanly and quickly under genuine load — where a sluggish render has real consequences. On the back end, you will be designing and running the Node.js services and APIs that feed those interfaces, processing high-volume, real-time data at pace.

What the Full Stack Software Engineer will be doing:

• Building low-latency React UIs for real-time equities data — performance and render speed are non-negotiable
• Designing and running the Node.js services and APIs behind those interfaces, handling high-volume market data reliably
• Translating complex trading workflows into clean, intuitive end-to-end solutions with the desk and engineering teams
• Taking ownership of architecture and code quality across the full stack — with real influence over technical direction

Full Stack Software Engineer requirements:

• React expertise — clean component architecture and the judgement to know when not to reach for the framework
• Solid, production-grade Node.js — building and running real backend services, not just tooling or scripts
• A track record delivering high-volume applications under real-world performance constraints
• Strong communication skills across engineering, product, and trading desk stakeholders
• Financial services or real-time data background — not essential, but a genuine differentiator
