Job summary

Stripe is seeking backend, frontend-leaning fullstack engineers to build services and platforms used by millions of Stripe users, developers, and partners. You will design APIs, scale systems, and work across a distributed and hybrid team to deliver features with strong engineering standards.

You should have 2–12+ years of software engineering experience, be language-agnostic, and enjoy collaborating across workstreams while taking ownership and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications

• 2–12+ years of industry software engineering experience (does not include internships or co-ops).
• Strong coding skills in any programming language (language agnostic).
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across workstreams within your team and contribute to peers' success.
• Ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks to solve problems and delight users.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, build, and maintain APIs, user experiences, services, and large-scale systems.
• Debug and solve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
• Mentor engineers to help them grow.
• Meet with users to help shape product changes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build new features at scale while improving internal standards and tooling.
• Collaborate effectively in a distributed and hybrid team with clear communication.
