Job summary

Stripe is seeking Backend Engineers to help scale Money Management APIs and services powering Treasury products globally from its London office. You will design and maintain APIs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers in a hybrid environment.

Applicants should have 2–12+ years of software- engineering experience, be language-agnostic in coding, and thrive with autonomy and ownership across complex financial systems. Hybrid office expectation applies.

Qualifications

• 2-12+ years of industry software engineering experience (not incl. internships/co-ops).
• Strong coding skills in any programming language (interview is language-agnostic).
• Strong collaboration skills across workstreams and peers’ success.
• Autonomy, responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and large-scale systems handling billions of money movement requests.
• Debug and solve production issues across services and stack levels.
• Mentor engineers to help them grow.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build new features at scale while improving internal standards, tooling and processes.
• Collaborate effectively in a distributed and hybrid team with open communication.
