Job summary

FDM is seeking a highly capable Full Stack Engineer to join a key engineering team delivering strategic lending and banking technology initiatives in London. The role is a hybrid 3 days in office, initially a 3 month contract with potential extension, involving hands-on Java, React, cloud-native AWS, and microservices work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' commercial experience in Full Stack Engineering.
• 5+ years' experience with Java development.
• 5+ years' experience with React and/or React Native.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot.
• REST API design and development.
• Microservices architecture.
• SQL and database technologies.
• TDD, BDD and integration testing practices.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• AWS cloud engineering.
• DevOps and continuous delivery experience.
• Secure coding practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Previous Banking or Financial Services experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications.
• Build high-quality RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop responsive front-end solutions using React and/or React Native.
• Contribute to cloud-native application development on AWS.
• Implement secure coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Develop automated testing and integration solutions.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and continuous delivery initiatives.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners and feature teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Support platform modernisation and transformation programmes.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
