Job summary

money.co.uk is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in London with a hybrid working model. You will shape technical direction for Financial Services, working across frontend and backend systems, and lead initiatives involving AI tooling to deliver measurable improvements.

You will collaborate with product, commercial, ops, data analysts, and other engineers to build scalable, secure, and maintainable software in a modern stack (TypeScript/React/Node.js on Kubernetes in AWS).

Qualifications

Strong TypeScript and statically typed languages on their merits.
Deep Node.js ecosystem knowledge including bundling and dependency management.
Proficient with AI tooling and shipping code via CLI or editor-based AI agents.
Solid grasp of the React paradigm and hooks.
Principles of clean, maintainable code and design patterns.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for Financial Services and raise team standards.
Work across the full stack including front-end components and backend services.
Lead front-end focus while owning end-to-end quality.
Translate business problems into working software and prioritise impactful work.
Run code reviews and mentor other engineers to improve output.
