Job summary

Speedy Group is seeking a depot operations leader to drive performance, cost efficiency and staff development at the UK depot. The role emphasises strong leadership, adherence to safety guidelines and proactive procurement for equipment and stock.

The successful candidate will manage a team, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure training aligns with the Speedy Career Journey. Hybrid/flexible working arrangements are available where suitable.

Qualifications

• Proven people management and development experience.
• Strong cost control and expense management capabilities.
• Proficiency with digital tools and systems and willingness to train on new platforms.
• Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work efficiently.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders in all situations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the depot performs against all agreed targets/budgets and manages costs within.
• Maintain exemplary standards of operation and depot appearance.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety guidelines.
• Own stock/ items, transfers/ ARP process.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify stock issues.
• Oversee purchasing of depot equipment, tools and general orders.
• Recruit, coach and provide feedback to depot staff; manage training and development per Speedy Career Journey.
• Allocate and process assets on Hire Contracts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that the depot is performing against all agreed targets/budgets and manage all costs within
• To always maintain exemplary standards of operation and aesthetic appearance
• Ensuring that the depot is performing against all agreed targets/budgets and managing all costs within
• Ensuring that all aspects of work and process are carried out in-line with Health and Safety guidelines
• Ownership of stock/ itemised, non-itemised, transfers/ ARP process
• Conduct regular audit and inspections to identify issues or stock discrepancies
• Responsible for overseeing purchasing of all depot equipment, tools and general orders
• Recruitment, coaching and providing feedback to depot employees and ensuring that all training and development needs are met - conducting timely job chats, training and development records, all in accordance with the Speedy Career Journey
• Responsible for allocating and processing of assets on Hire Contracts
