83Zero Ltd is seeking a Development Engineer - Fuel Systems in Peterborough to lead development from concept to production on new diesel engine programmes. The role is hands-on and involves collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.

Working on high-pressure fuel systems, the engineer will perform design reviews, risk assessments and validation tests. This contractor position is Inside IR35, with a 12-month duration and on-site work in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong experience in fuel system development.
• Knowledge of high-pressure fuel systems.
• Experience with diesel or reciprocating engines.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with APQP, FMEA and DVP&R would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Off-highway diesel engine experience would be highly desirable.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, simulation, rig testing or system testing would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own fuel system development activities and lead design reviews.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on development tasks.
• Perform risk assessment, validation and testing of fuel systems.
• Support resolution of engineering issues through structured problem-solving.
• Drive new product development from concept through to production.
• Work closely with program stakeholders to deliver on-time results.
