Job summary

83Zero Ltd is seeking a Development Engineer - Fuel Systems in Peterborough to lead development from concept to production on new diesel engine programmes. The role is hands-on and involves collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong experience in fuel system development.
• Knowledge of high-pressure fuel systems.
• Experience with diesel or reciprocating engines.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering and manufacturing principles.
• Experience with APQP, FMEA and DVP&R would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Off-highway diesel engine experience would be highly desirable.
• Experience with CAD, PLM, simulation, rig testing or system testing would also be beneficial.

Responsibilities

Development Engineer - Fuel SystemsPeterborough | £40.73 per hour | Inside IR35 | 12-month contract

Are you an experienced Fuel Systems Engineer with a strong background in high-pressure fuel systems and diesel engines?

We're looking for a Development Engineer - Fuel Systems to join an established engineering team in Peterborough, working on exciting new diesel engine programmes and taking projects from development through to production.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll have the opportunity to own fuel system development activities, solve complex technical problems and work closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

You'll be involved in design reviews, supplier development, technical risk assessment, validation and testing, as well as supporting the resolution of engineering issues through structured problem-solving.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years' relevant engineering experience.
• Strong experience in fuel system development.
• Proven knowledge of high-pressure fuel systems.
• Experience with diesel or reciprocating engines.
