Job summary

Wickes is seeking a Category Manager to join our Commercial team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Watford. You’ll own end-to-end category management, source ranges, set pricing, promotions, and maximise sales and profitability.

You’ll collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders, develop category strategies, manage SKUs, and lead a small team. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential; experience in a buying role is preferred, with a drive to meet targets.

Responsibilities

• Set a clear, customer-focused category strategy to deliver growth in sales and profit.
• Develop and build category plans to maximise market share and provide the best customer proposition.
• Trading management: deliver the plan and numbers.
• Drive sales and profit through promotion, advertising and PR aligned with Marketing and Operations.
• Manage SKU costs and retail pricing in line with strategy.
