Job summary

Boots is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a team on the shop floor, delivering excellent customer care and strong commercial performance. You’ll coach staff, manage rotas and safety checks, and own day-to-day store operations to ensure a welcoming and compliant environment for customers and patients.

You’ll balance people, performance and procedures, using data to spot opportunities and drive results. A Pharmacy Services qualification or progression toward one strengthens your fit for this

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a customer-facing environment.
• Ability to drive performance and deliver results.
• Strong organisational skills including rota planning and workload prioritisation.
• Clear understanding of compliance, safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support your team on the shop floor, coaching and role-modelling customer care and commercial performance.
• Take ownership of day-to-day running of the store, including planning, scheduling and stock availability.
• Maintain high store standards: cleanliness, safety and easy shopping experience for customers and patients.
• Manage stock, loss prevention and audits to safeguard profitability and compliance.
• Use data and reports to identify opportunities and take action to improve performance.
• Lead the store in the absence of the Store Manager, making informed and confident decisions.
