Job summary

Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced Social Worker Team Manager to lead the Children’s Advice and Support Service (CASS) and Emergency Duty Team (EDT). The post requires strong leadership, safeguarding expertise and a commitment to workforce development.

You will drive practice improvement, oversee performance, and work closely with police, health, education and voluntary partners to ensure timely, child-centred decision-making.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Current registration with Social Work England.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to oversee a dedicated team.
• Experience in leadership, resilience and managing demanding workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead the CASS and EDT teams with confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
• Coach, develop and supervise practitioners to uphold best interests decisions.
• Embed workforce development and quality improvement across services.
• Collaborate with police, health, education and voluntary sector partners.
• Be prepared to work some out-of-hours shifts as part of EDT operational hours.
