Job summary

Leaders in Care is seeking 3–4 experienced Social Workers to join a Children's Services team on a temporary basis to help address a backlog of Children and Young People, predominantly those on Child Protection Plans, during a period of service transformation.

You will manage a caseload of children awaiting allocation to the Safeguarding Service, perform statutory visits, assessments and care planning, and work with partners to ensure timely, high-quality interventions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in frontline children's social care, especially safeguarding.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads with sound risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and young people primarily subject to Child Protection Plans.
• Complete statutory visits, assessments, reviews and care planning in line with legislative requirements.
• Build relationships with children and families to improve outcomes and reduce risk.
• Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to ensure timely interventions.
• Prepare cases for a smooth transition into the new Family Help Teams as part of the Families First for Children reforms.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports.
