Job summary

Leaders in Care is assisting a Children’s Services team in Greater Manchester by recruiting 3-4 experienced Social Workers on a temporary basis to address a backlog of Children and Young People, many subject to Child Protection Plans.

You will manage caseloads, undertake statutory visits, assessments, and care planning, and work with families and partners to ensure timely interventions during the transition to the new Families First for Children reforms.

Qualifications

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in frontline children's social care, particularly Child Protection and Safeguarding.
  • Confident managing complex caseloads and making sound risk assessments.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.

Backlog Work | Capped Caseload | Flexible Working | Quick Starts

We are seeking 3-4 experienced Social Workers to join a Children's Services team on a temporary basis to help address a backlog of Children and Young People, predominantly those subject to Child Protection Plans, who are awaiting transfer to our Safeguarding Service.

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled practitioners who are passionate about making a meaningful difference for children and families while supporting an important period of service transformation.

The Role

You will hold a caseload of children and young people awaiting allocation to the Safeguarding Service, ensuring they receive proactive, high-quality social work intervention during this transitional period.

Working directly with children, families and partner agencies, you will:

About You
