Job summary

Modo Energy is hiring frontend engineers to join one of our product teams—Terminal, Data, Ko, or Modelling. You’ll contribute to a shared TypeScript, React, and Next.js codebase in a monorepo built for rapid, AI-assisted development, and align with a company-wide design system.

You’ll work with designers and domain experts to ship features, maintain performance, and grow across the frontend, with opportunities to touch backend and infra as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of frontend development with excellent TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Experience with MUI or a similar component library.
• Solid testing practice with Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Proficient with Git, Docker, and CI/CD workflows; familiar with monorepos (Turborepo, Yarn Workspaces).
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Strong UI/UX sensibility; able to ship polished interfaces.
• Fast learner who can design components and ship with autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Shape the frontend monorepo's technical direction as the product scales.
• Design and build components in the internal UI library (built on MUI).
• Create high-performance, low-latency interfaces for live market data.
• Write well-tested code (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) and participate in code reviews.
• Balance feature delivery with maintenance, performance, and production issues.
• Collaborate with design, energy analysts, and data scientists to bridge design and engineering.
• Extend into backend/infrastructure aspects when needed (APIs, deployments, data pipelines).
