Job summary

J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. is seeking an Athena/Python Front Office Software Engineer to join a dynamic agile team within the Commodities Tech group.

You will help enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way, applying deep technical expertise to tackle diverse challenges. As part of an agile front-office technology team, you will deliver impactful solutions for Precious Metals and Agriculture trading, drive business results, and collaborate

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or equivalent.
Hands-on experience delivering system design, development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience in performant, large-scale system development in Python/Java.
Solid understanding of agile methodologies (CI/CD, resiliency, security).
Knowledge of software applications/technical processes (cloud, full-stack, quantitative finance).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Eagerness to learn and grow technically and business-wise.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Precious Metals/Agriculture Trading and other tech teams to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain trading applications used by Front Office.
Troubleshoot production issues in time-sensitive environments.
Improve code quality, performance, and system resilience; review others' code.
Work with global technology teams in an Agile setting.
Contribute to communities of practice and explore new technologies.
Contribute to a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
