Job summary

Tempest Vane Partners in London is seeking its first dedicated AI specialist to shape how AI is adopted across the front office. You will work closely with Portfolio Managers and senior management to identify opportunities where AI can improve productivity, decision-making and investment processes.

This strategic role blends investment knowledge with AI/ML and data engineering, offering autonomy to build practical AI use cases, develop tools, and drive governance.

Qualifications

• Investment knowledge in hedge funds/asset management preferred.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML and data engineering.
• Exceptional numeracy and data analysis skills.
• Ability to translate front-office problems into practical technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Working with Portfolio Managers and senior management to identify opportunities where AI can improve productivity and decision-making.
• Running workshops, demonstrations and one-to-one sessions to educate staff on the practical applications of AI.
• Identifying and implementing AI tools and data-driven solutions to solve business problems.
• Developing practical AI use cases and helping shape the firm's broader AI strategy.
• Supporting staff in the effective and responsible use of AI.
• Building and maintaining AI tools, with appropriate documentation and governance.
• Understanding where AI is genuinely useful and recognising its limitations.
• Running multiple projects simultaneously and driving change across the organisation.
