Job summary

Harper's Steakhouse Southampton, part of Upham Inns, is seeking a Front of House Supervisor to lead the team during service and ensure exceptional guest experiences. You’ll motivate staff, run pre-service briefings and drive promotions while upholding high standards of hospitality.

The role offers opportunities to progress toward General Manager within a friendly, hands-on team environment and a range of staff benefits. A dynamic working style and a passion for guest service are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience.
• Aged 18+ due to licensing requirements.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Confidence and strong decision-making abilities.
• Great organisation and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of food, wine and beer.
• The Right to Work in the UK.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support the Front of House team throughout service.
• Run pre-service briefings and ensure the team are confident with menus, drinks, promotions and offers.
• Help drive promotions and maximise sales.
• Coach and encourage team members to deliver great service and confidently upsell.
• Deal with guest or team issues quickly and professionally.
• Lead by example and set the standard for exceptional customer service.
• Work closely with the kitchen and wider team to ensure smooth service flow.
• Support the General Manager and Assistant Managers in running the business effectively.
• Take part in ongoing training and development.
• Learn new skills and progress within the company.
