Job summary

Mayflower Theatre and Mayflower Studios are seeking Front of House team members to warmly welcome audiences, assist with bars and merchandise, support events and ensure a safe, inviting environment for all visitors.

Roles are offered on annualised hours contracts of 624 hours per year (about 12 hours per week on average), including afternoons, evenings and weekends. All applicants must be available for weekend work and busy Christmas periods.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a guest-facing role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across diverse audiences.
• Ability to stay calm and professional when handling queries or issues.
• Experience using EPOS or point-of-sale systems to handle transactions.
• Team player who follows venue procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service in a welcoming environment.
• Assist customers with enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Enforce policies, licensing regulations and health and safety procedures.
• Support bar, retail and merchandise sales, handling transactions and stock.
• Assist with setup, delivery and clearance of events in Front of House areas.
• Serve food and beverages following hygiene standards.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and care.
• Contribute to safety and wellbeing of customers and staff.
• Work with colleagues to ensure smooth operation of performances.
