Job summary

Northern Star Academies Trust is seeking a talented Self-employed Guitar Teacher to deliver high-quality instrumental tuition to students at Skipton Girls’ High School. You will teach guitar to diverse ages and abilities, working with the Curriculum Leader of Music, currently around 3 hours on Fridays.

Qualifications

• Advanced guitar performance with solid music theory.
• Experience teaching individuals or groups.
• Degree in Music or Music Education or equivalent.
• Legal entitlement to work in the UK and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Teach guitar skills including chords, scales, strumming, fingerstyle and improvisation.
• Deliver lessons across rock, blues, jazz and classical.
• Create tailored lesson plans to meet student needs and aspirations.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for performances and examinations as appropriate.
• Maintain attendance records and communicate with students and parents/carers.
