Job summary

Staffline is seeking a motivated Machine Operator to join a busy fresh produce operation (citrus & grape) at Alconbury Weald. Training will be provided; previous experience is an advantage but not required. You will operate and monitor production machinery to help achieve daily targets while upholding safety, quality and efficiency standards.

Shifts are 4 days on, 4 days off, with a day schedule from 07:00 to 19:30. Transport from Peterborough is available for a daily return fee.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a KPI-driven environment and understand production targets.
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Operating production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Setting and adjusting machinery to achieve best performance.
• Monitoring machine speeds, targets and hourly performance.
• Identifying machine issues and using problem-solving skills to reduce downtime.
• Supporting fast and efficient changeovers.
• Ensuring machinery is kept clean, safe and fit for use.
• Following production procedures, food safety and quality standards.
• Working closely with Line Leaders to achieve daily plans and KPIs.
• Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses and unsafe working conditions.
• Supporting and training trainee or junior Machine Operators as your experience develops.
• Taking ownership of your machine and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
