Job summary

Staffline is recruiting for a Logistics Administrator to join a leading fruit and vegetable production site in Peterborough. This full-time role operates 4 on 4 off with hours from 05:45 to 18:00 and offers a pay rate of £13.90 per hour, with overtime at £17.38 per hour.

You will coordinate imports, liaise with suppliers and freight partners, monitor deliveries and maintain accurate records to keep the supply chain running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, service providers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines.
• High attention to detail and accuracy when managing logistics documentation, shipment records and system updates.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
• Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Experience within logistics, supply chain, import/export or fresh produce operations would be advantageous.
• Flexible, proactive and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commercially aware with the ability to contribute towards cost-effective logistics operations.
• Ability to sit and work at a workstation for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating the daily import, clearance and arrival of fresh produce from international suppliers to the AMT Fresh site, ensuring all deliveries arrive on time and in full.
• Liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, hauliers, customs agents and internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient product flow through the supply chain.
• Monitoring inbound deliveries, tracking shipments and resolving any transport, customs or delivery issues to minimise disruption to operations.
• Maintaining accurate logistics records, shipment documentation, import paperwork and system updates to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
• Working closely with Warehouse, Production, Planning and Commercial teams to communicate arrival schedules and support business requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve logistics processes, service levels and operational costs while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Supporting logistics projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the wider Logistics and Supply Chain team.
• Predominantly office-based role with extensive computer and telephone use.
