Job summary

Edwardian Hotels London is looking for a skilled French Polisher & Surface Repair Engineer to join our Central Maintenance Team. You will restore, repair and finish high-end furniture and surfaces across the hotel, ensuring guest areas remain flawless.

Ideal candidates have proven polishing or surface repair experience, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a luxury environment. Knowledge of hotels or luxury settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out expert French polishing and finishing on luxury furniture
• Perform surface restoration on wood, stone, metal, ceramic and laminates
• Restore scratches and cosmetic damage to high standards
• Maintain and repair guest room furniture and fixtures
• Work with Engineering to prioritise tasks and respond to maintenance requests
• Ensure work is safe and aligns with 5-star presentation standards
• Maintain tools and workshop areas to a professional standard

We are currently recruiting for a French Polisher and Surface Repair Engineer to join our Central Maintenance Team at Edwardian Hotels London. As a French Polisher & Surface Repair Engineer, you will be responsible for the restoration, repair, and finishing of high‑end furniture, fixtures, and surfaces throughout the hotel. Your craftsmanship will help preserve the hotel’s refined aesthetic and ensure all guest‑facing areas remain flawless.

Overview

• Carry out expert French polishing, surface restoration, and fine finishing on luxury furniture and woodwork
• Perform Magicman‑style repairs on surfaces including wood, stone, marble, metal, ceramics, and laminates
• Restore scratches, dents, chips, burns, and other cosmetic damage to a near‑invisible standard
• Maintain and repair guest room furniture, public area fixtures, and bespoke hotel pieces
• Work closely with the Engineering team to prioritise tasks and respond to maintenance requests
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with 5‑star presentation standards
• Maintain tools, materials, and workshop areas to a professional standard

About You

• Proven experience as a French Polisher or specialist surface repair technician
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for craftsmanship
• Skilled in colour matching, finishing techniques, and surface restoration
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality results under time pressure
• Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining luxury standards
• Experience in hotels, luxury residential, yachts, or high‑end commercial environments is advantageous
