Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a highly motivated freight market analyst to support global trading, freight asset optimization, and commercial decision-making. The role focuses on developing market insights, valuation frameworks, and analytical tools to enhance portfolio performance.

You will work with traders, chartering teams, and originators to evaluate vessel opportunities, economics, and market opportunities, driving value through robust analytics in a fast-paced global shipping environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of global freight markets, shipping economics, chartering structures, and maritime transportation dynamics.
• Experience analyzing freight markets, vessel economics, asset valuations, transportation portfolios, or related commercial activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze global freight markets and market fundamentals.
• Develop models for valuation, portfolio optimization, and earnings forecasting.
• Evaluate performance across owned, leased, and contracted vessels.
• Analyze time and voyage charter opportunities to support portfolio decisions.
• Develop market forecasts and scenario analyses for trading and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with freight traders and chartering teams to translate market data into actions.
• Produce market commentary and portfolio analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Support analytics capabilities and decision-support tools across teams.
